FIT TO BE A DOCTOR?
Fit to be a Doctor? has been created to help students who are interested in applying to Medical School decide whether a career in medicine is right for them, and if so which aspect of medicine might suit them best.
The test is delivered online over 90 minutes using technology supplied by our partners Pearson VUE at approved test centres worldwide. The questions are designed to test students’ academic skills such as data interpretation, problem-solving, lateral thinking, and the ability to analyse and evaluate information in order to make a diagnosis. They also test non-academic skills such as leadership, communication and organisation skills, empathy, and the ability to reflect on and learn from mistakes. These skills are vital when considering a career in the medical profession. Candidates receive their scores and detailed feedback 48 hours after taking the test. They also receive a certificate which is a valuable addition to their CV.
The test has been developed in the UK by Anglo Schools International Services (ASIS) in association with The Medic Portal and the Royal Society of Medicine.
After completing Fit to be a Doctor? candidates will receive three months free access to video content from key lectures of the Royal Society of Medicine. There are over 500 of these available online. They are normally only accessible through full Society membership.
Other career tests currently in development include Fit to be a Lawyer?, Fit to be an Engineer?, Fit to be an Entrepreneur? And Fit to be in Finance/Banking? All these tests are in association with leading professional bodies.
